Detailed description of Starfire Golf Course

Starfire Golf Course, formerly named Scottsdale Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 27 hole golf course facility located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 3 nine hole courses are the King, Hawk, and Squire. They can be combined in 3 different 18 hole combinations.

Starfire Golf Course opened for play in 1988. The courses were designed by Arnold Palmer.

The signature holes are:

Squire #5 - At 175 yards, this hole is a modest but tricky Par 3 over water with bunkers left and mounds right.

King - #8 - a challenging 205 yard par 3, well bunkered and surrounded by water.

Hawk- #9 - a sporty narrow 339 yard par 4 that requires a combination of distance and accuracy to score well.

Sand traps, bunkers are neglected as part of the Golf Course It appears all they do here is "cut grass" Quality of sand play is impossible because the condition of sand, crusty top, with very hard base, impossible to execute quality shot.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
